​I call myself a nerd because I love learning. As for beautiful, I study and teach the art and science of cosmetology.

I encourage my students and readers to question what we put on or into our bodies and minds to make ourselves look and feel better. To think deeply about beauty standards. To understand ingredients and how they work.

biography

Lynsey Hemstreet is Adjunct Faculty at the cosmetology department of Skyline College in San Bruno, CA. Three-time winner of the President's Innovation Fund for an international service learning trip, Lynsey believes in sharing the gifts of teaching and learning. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from San Francisco State University and a certificate in cosmetology from College of San Mateo. She is currently pursuing her Master's in Broadcast and Electronic Communications Arts.
